Juventus will kick off their Champions League campaign with an away tie against Valencia in Group H on Wednesday, with Cristiano Ronaldo eager to make an immediate impact as the Italian side aim to clinch the European Cup.
The Italian champions face tough tests against the likes of Manchester United and Young Boys in the rest of Group H, with an away trip to the Mestalla their the first hurdle.
Valencia will not be an easy nut to crack for the Seria A giants, having returned to the tournament after missing out last term.
What The Managers Are Saying –
Marcelino (Valencia) –
Juventus are a competitive, winning team, who use their resources to the fullest and manage to win their League with ease. Our mentality means we play to win every game. We hope to beat Juventus. After that, we’ll think about the next game. We’ve faced Cristiano Ronaldo several times before and suffered against him, but fear isn’t an appropriate emotion.
Max Allegri –
We come into it in good form after four wins in the league. We need to be aware that to get through we need to work hard because it’s a balanced group, with Manchester United and Valencia already having a lot of Champions League experience. Playing in this stadium isn’t easy, and the chances of going through are very much affected by this match because if we win it’s a much easier path than if we get a negative result.
