Luzhniki Stadium in Moscow is ready to host the biggest sporting event on the planet, the FIFA World Cup Final between France and Croatia on Sunday.
France have an abundance of technically gifted players like Kylian Mbappe, Antoine Griezmann and Paul Pogba, whereas Croatia have been relying on their world-class midfield duo of Luka Modric and Ivan Rakitic throughout the tournament and will be hoping the experienced campaigners can fire when it matters most.
The French team won its first and only World Cup title in 1998, while Croatia will be hoping they can continue pulling off upsets at the global showpiece and secure what would be a historic maiden World Cup title for their country.
FRANCE – CROATIA : ‘The Combined XI’

Rakitic(Cro) Modric(Cro) Kante(Fra) Pogba(Fra)
Luka Modric (Croatia) –
My focus is only on the success of my team. It is nice that you guys are mentioning me in the context of the Golden Ball, but the most important thing is to win the World Cup. We will be certainly emotional before going out on the pitch, but we have to give our all once the match starts.
Antoine Griezmann (France) –
I want the star on my shirt for World Cup winners. If I get that, I don’t care about how we play. My game is changing, now I am more likely to dictate the rhythm or hold onto the ball. If I score, then that’s great, but I am more a player who thinks of the team than of scoring.
