Atletico Madrid manager Diego Simeone slammed Argentinian players after their shocking 3-0 loss against Croatia and also compared Lionel Messi and Cristiano Ronaldo.
In a leaked audio message to his assistant Mono Burgos, after Argentina’s defeat, Simeone said that there are no leaders in the team and everybody in that dressing room is hiding.
“I see a lost team, they should have started the game like they started against Iceland, a weaker team,” Simeone said.
“The team are in a bad moment, but it’s Argentina and I hope I’m not wrong, but I think they’re advancing, because Nigeria will beat Iceland and then you will have the the possibility of beating Nigeria, as long as Iceland does not win against Croatia, it now depends on Iceland, not to win either of the two games, its possible.”
“I do not see any leaders in that team, it is an anarchy and not leadership. It is clear that in the dressing room players are holding on to fists but in these situations, you need someone to fight.”
“Messi is very good, but he is very good because he plays alongside extraordinary players, that’s the thing. So, If you had to choose between Messi and Ronaldo for a regular team, who would you choose?”
